Our research revealed that the video is not real footage but an AI-generated video, which is being circulated with a false claim.

A user on social media platform Instagram shared the viral video on July 17, 2026, claiming that it shows the real visuals of an attack on Iran and the massive explosions caused by it.

Fact Check
To verify the authenticity of the viral claim, we extracted multiple keyframes from the video and conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens. During the research, we did not find any credible news report, verified video, or authentic source confirming that the footage was related to any attack on Iran. To further examine the authenticity of the video, we analysed it using multiple AI detection tools. First, we scanned the video using Hive Moderation. The tool’s analysis indicated that the video had a 94.9% probability of being AI-generated, suggesting that the footage may have been created using Artificial Intelligence.

For additional verification, we analysed the video using DetectVideo AI. The tool also indicated that the video was likely AI-generated, with an estimated 80% probability.

We further checked the video using another AI detection tool, AI or Not, which suggested that the footage had a 64% probability of being AI-generated.

At the final stage of verification, we used WasIt.AI, which also indicated that the video was likely AI-generated, with an 88% probability.

Conclusion
CyberPeace Research Wing ’s research found that the viral video does not show real footage of an attack on Iran.The video was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is being falsely shared as authentic visuals of explosions and destruction caused by an attack on Iran. Users are advised to verify such sensational claims before sharing them online.

However, location updates occur only when the app is in use, adding a layer of complexity to privacy management.
While empowering users to connect and share, Snap Map’s location-sharing capabilities raise serious concerns. Unintentional sharing or misuse of this tool could expose users—especially teens—to risks like stalking or predatory behaviour. As Snap Map becomes increasingly popular, ensuring its safe use and addressing its potential for harm remains a critical challenge for users and regulators.
The Policy Vacuum: Protecting Children’s Data Privacy
Given the potential misuse of location-sharing features, evaluating the existing regulatory frameworks for protecting children's geolocation privacy is important. Geolocation features remain under-regulated in many jurisdictions, creating opportunities for misuse, such as stalking or unauthorised surveillance. Presently, multiple international and national jurisdictions are in the process of creating and implementing privacy laws. The most notable examples are the COPPA in the US, GDPR in the EU and the DPDP Act which have made considerable progress in privacy for children and their online safety. COPPA and GDPR prioritise children’s online safety through strict data protections, consent requirements, and limits on profiling. India’s DPDP Act, 2023, prohibits behavioral tracking and targeted ads for children, enhancing privacy. While these features offer safety benefits, they also present the danger of misuse, potentially harming vulnerable teens. This statute is unique in that it does not only target harms caused by AI models in the form of consumer protection as compared to the majority of state statutes; rather, this statute addresses the catastrophic and systemic risks to society associated with large-scale AI systems. As California is a global technology leader, the TFAIA is positioned to have a significant impact on both domestic regulation and the evolution of international legal frameworks for AI technology (and as such has the potential to influence corporate compliance practices and the establishment of global norms related to the use of AI).

The TFAIA may serve as a guide for international public policy makers by showing how they can reference existing standards and best practices in developing regulations, thus improving interoperability and potentially lessening regulatory barriers to cross-border AI innovations.

From an industry perspective, the Act revolutionizes the way companies govern themselves. Fact Check:
A Google search using relevant keywords did not return any credible media reports supporting the claim, raising initial doubts about its authenticity. Closer inspection of the viral video revealed multiple visual inconsistencies suggesting digital manipulation. The video was further analysed using AI detection tools. Hive Moderation flagged the content as having a 98% probability of being AI-generated, indicating strong likelihood of synthetic creation.

In addition, analysis using the AI detection tool “WasItAI” also confirmed that the video is AI-generated.

Further verification found an official post by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) dated June 17, 2026, debunking similar misinformation circulating around ethanol-blended petrol https://x.com/BPCLimited/status/2067167037710020929?s=20

Conclusion:
The research confirms that the viral video showing bees swarming on a motorcycle fuel tank is AI-generated. The claim linking it to ethanol-blended petrol (E85/E20) is false and misleading, with no real-world basis.
