Following the announcement of the CyberPeace Index at the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), CyberPeace convened an exclusive expert roundtable at the UNODC Hanoi Event. This was the second in a series of global dialogues designed to gather insights and foster critical reflections on the forthcoming CyberPeace Index, which is scheduled for launch in February.
The CyberPeace Index aimed to provide a comprehensive framework for assessing the state of cybersecurity, digital trust, and resilience across nations, with a focus on inclusivity, peace, and safety in cyberspace. At this side event, CyberPeace brought together policymakers, multilateral representatives, industry leaders, civil society, and academia to deliberate on:
- The relevance and utility of an index-driven approach to assessing cyber peace and resilience.
- Key indicators and metrics that should be prioritized for global benchmarking.
- Perspectives on ensuring the Index is globally inclusive, practical, and adaptable for diverse socio-political contexts.
- Opportunities for collaboration, alignment, and amplification ahead of the launch.
The roundtable served as an open, interactive platform where participants shared feedback, highlighted challenges, and co-shaped a tool that aspires to guide global policymaking and capacity-building in cybersecurity.
By engaging voices from multiple sectors and regions, CyberPeace ensured that the CyberPeace Index reflected shared global priorities and contributed meaningfully to advancing trust, safety, and stability in the digital era.
