Introduction
USI MUN 2.0 served as a national platform for youth delegates to engage with global challenges at the intersection of technology, security, and diplomacy. Anchored in the theme “Securing Space and Cyberspace for Global Peace and Inclusive Development,” the event brought together students, academics, and policy practitioners to explore emerging risks in cyberspace, space governance, and digital inclusion. The initiative was organized by the United Service Institution of India (USI), in collaboration with CyberPeace Foundation, emphasizing experiential learning through UN-style simulations and debates.
Objectives
The event focused on four core goals:
- Promote youth-led diplomacy on space and cyberspace governance issues.
- Facilitate discussions on AI, cybersecurity, and ethical technology deployment.
- Encourage interdisciplinary dialogue between technology, policy, and peacebuilding.
- Foster partnerships, recognition, and career opportunities for delegates.
Participation
The event hosted 80 onsite delegates from across India. Five UN-style simulations were conducted, including UNGA, UNSC, UNHRC, UNOOSA, and UNCSW. Participants included student executives, youth delegates, and faculty advisors. The event featured notable contributions from leaders such as Major General P.K. Goswami, VSM; Shri M.A.K.P Singh; Major Vineet Kumar; Lt Gen A.K. Bhatt; and Mr Umesh Narayan Panjiar, IAS (Retd).
