Hyderabad: Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Wednesday stressed upon the immediate need for law enforcing agencies to update their knowledge and keep up pace with rapid changes in technology to tackle emerging cyber crimes, especially against children who are easily vulnerable to any type of crime.
Addressing a workshop on ‘Prevention and Detection of Cyber Crime Against Children’, he said the proximity and access to the internet and smart phones were making children more vulnerable to the crime.
“The crime against a child is not only just a physical violation, but also violation of the child’s right and, it also impacts the psyche and health of the child,” he said.
The Crime Investigation Department (CID) is organising the two-day workshop in association with UNICEF and Cyber Peace Foundation at RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy. Over 50 police personnel attended the event.
