It has been found that cybercrimes and threats to women online are rising by the day, so that they are the prime targets of some sensitive crimes like revenge pornography and sextortion. Reasons causing this are not only economical, but also social and cultural, that prevent women from using the internet and issues like trolling that pop up when one uses it too often. With the development of a more advanced and digital age , it is of paramount importance to break this gender divide and create awareness among internet users, to help curb the threats and problems associated with the internet and its usage, and also pave a path to reap the benefits of these great technological advancements.

CYBER CHARCHA

Cyber Charcha is an informal event conducted by the CPF team members, volunteers and representatives at various national and international locations. We at CPF firmly believe, “Nothing that a hot cup of tea or coffee can’t solve”. Therefore, a group of interested populace gather at a local coffee shop, purchases their own beverage and have a discussion over thought provoking topics and issues related to Cybersecurity and law. These meetings are conducted informally but are recorded for future reference and to give public an insight of the discussion.

SOCIAL RESEARCH

We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of volunteers ranging from students to experienced and skilled professionals such as Cyber Security experts, academicians, doctors, lawyers, teachers etc. who contribute in conducting of research over social issues such as Cyber Psychology, Women and Child Welfare, Child Behaviour online etc. These researches are often carried out in association with organisations working in the specific domain of the identified social issue. The findings are then used to disseminate knowledge and are published as white papers and reports.ALOGUE

TECHNOLOGY, LAW, AND POLICY RESEARCH GROUP

Since its inception, CyberPeace Foundation has been an organization working at the grassroots while undertaking policy advocacy, capacity building, legal awareness and outreach campaigns specifically in the area of building resilience against cybercrimes and enhancement of CyberSecurity. As an organization, we encourage our workforce to work on critical issues related to CyberSecurity, at various levels of the society. Over the years, we have accumulated a qualified team of policy advisors from technical, legal and policy backgrounds, who have worked on the ground level in assisting cybercrime victims, on collaborative initiatives with stakeholders such as governments, industry, other civil society bodies, law enforcement, judiciary, and international organisations, including the UNICEF and the NCPCR.

The Technology, Law, and Policy Research group is an initiative of the CyberPeace Foundation to leverage its expertise and experience from diverse fields and add scholarship and rigorous research, by way of white papers, academic publications, handbooks, and reports in the subjects surrounding CyberPeace. We aim to produce quality publications and findings with the help of learnings from our field level initiatives and the combined techno-legal expertise of our team, which can be found on our publications page.
