Child & Women

With the internet gaining popularity, an exponential rise in crimes against women and children have been witnessed. A survey by Microsoft revealed that India ranks third in the number of cyberbullying cases amongst children. The tragic part is children dread their parents and do not inform them about being bullied. They continue to suffer alone silently. Women, on the other hand, are victims of crimes like stalking, identity theft, revenge porn etc. Sensitisation of women and children is, therefore, the need of the hour. CyberPeace Foundation under various initiatives like iSafe Alliance, Digital Shakti, e-Raksha, Cyber Clinic, Internet De-Addiction, CyberSecurity Helpline, etc. constantly strives to reach out to women and children in order to create awareness about online safety.
Our initiatives are targeted at building capacity and empowering citizens not just on online safety but resilience and responsible online behaviour as well. We actively deal with cases and help victims on different fronts like law enforcement support, counselling, techno-legal help etc.

Digital Shakti#DigitalShakti

It is not possible most 21st century citizens to spend a day without their smartphones today. This has enabled opportunities and threats like never before and in ways unimaginable. With no bar on age and geography, each netizen faces this urgent need to be aware and resilient to make the full use of technology while staying safe. To tackle issues, having security features and laws in place is of no use as long as citizens are unaware of how these are to be used to create a peaceful and safe environment online.

CAREGIVERS AND SENIOR CITIZENS

The impulsive growth and utility of the Internet have put senior citizens at unease who continue to prefer traditional means. However, the dependency over the internet is such, that no individual can absolutely do away with it. This combined with lack of awareness makes senior citizens easy target. Through its various programs like e-Raksha, CyberSecurity Helpline, iSafe Alliance, etc. CyberPeace Foundation seeks to empower the senior citizens to harness the Internet to its full potential while sensitising them about how to stay safe in the cyber space.

However, the dependency over the internet is such that no individual can absolutely do away with it. This disposition coupled with lack of awareness makes them vulnerable leading to many cases of identity and financial frauds. On the fleep slide, we, however, feel that seniors speak authority and character in their families. We have observed that information and sensitisation about online safety, when it comes through the elders of the house is not just surprisingly pleasant but also creates an impact that is far more than someone preaching about it.
We work both these angles. We try to empower seniors on the safe use of technology and also how to take the message of online safety in their families. Recent developments have also led us to develop programs for them on the identification of misinformation and verification of news etc.

SPECIALLY ABLED

If there is something that the internet has done like nothing in the world has ever is to remove boundaries and fetters from possibilities. Capacity, as envisioned by technology, is not determined by someone’s physical or other limitations. Still, there is room for building capacity and in this vision, we run some specially curated programs for the specially abled. The programs aid, instil awareness and enable the specially abled by educating them about how to utilise the internet to learn and grow.
