It has been found that cybercrimes and threats to women online are rising by the day, so that they are the prime targets of some sensitive crimes like revenge pornography and sextortion. Reasons causing this are not only economical, but also social and cultural, that prevent women from using the internet and issues like trolling that pop up when one uses it too often. With the development of a more advanced and digital age , it is of paramount importance to break this gender divide and create awareness among internet users, to help curb the threats and problems associated with the internet and its usage, and also pave a path to reap the benefits of these great technological advancements.

Innovation & Research

CYBERPEACE RESEARCH CENTER / CENTER OF EXCELLENCE (COE)

CyberPeace Research Center / Center of Excellence(CoE), formerly know as E-Raksha Reseach Center is a ‘Community Driven Collaborative Open Source Framework for Research and Development’ for academia.

The idea is to bring together loosely coupled engineering research groups on cyber space specifically cybersecurity. It’s an end-to-end framework for cybersecurity research which will have working groups, open source repository and a collaboration platform, first of its kind developed by the community for the community.

Our Vision is to create a bed of research in academic organisations comprising of participation from academia, industry, government and civil society organizations to nurture and support ideas and solutions and develop innovations in cyber space through research. The aim is to address and solve the challenges and problems in the cyber space, thereby making cyber space stable and safe for everyone. The CyberPeace CoE is a plug and play model of research and innovation in academic campus wherein the participant (Industry, Government, Civil Society Organization, Individual) join hands for innovation and research. Having said that the idea is to get the problem statements from the participants and develop solutions utilizing the academic resources.

The COE is formed within any academic organization comprising the team from the academic organization (students, professors) who will work with the support of CPF COE team and they carry out research on the problem statements which can come from Industry, Academia, Government or any other source.

Our Research Wings

“e-Kawach – the e-shield for national and state cybersecurity”

e-Kawach is an initiative of CyberPeace Foundation (CPF) in collaboration with Foreign & Commonwealth Office to implement 24 honeypots across the country. A honeypot is an infrastructure to capture traffic to analyse the threats and attacks that a location faces. The Objective is to setup a comprehensive public network and sensors to capture and analyse internet attack traffic and build credible intelligence in the domain of cybersecurity pertaining to critical infrastructure, which would be then shared with appropriate government and public agencies in the country.

A C&C (Command and Control) server has been setup in Ranchi and the hardware is in place to pull logs and data from all the locations. Backend analytics and reporting system for the entire system has also been developed. The technology is novel and has been developed in-house and is at the stage of licensing to organisations
