Vineet Kumar is a social entrepreneur, activist, founder, and president of Cyber Peace Foundation. In the beginning, Vineet started his journey as an activist by launching the National Anti-Hacking Group. This initiative was started in 2003 and was one of the first ventures made to fight against cybercrime in the world. Ever since its launch in 2003, Vineet has been working towards devising programs and policies for safer cyberspace and sensitizing people to stay safe online.
Vineet Kumar has served as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) & Head of the State Government agency, Cyber Defense Research Centre (CDRC) of Jharkhand Police, Government of Jharkhand. The apex bodies in the field of Business, governance, social sectors, educational institutions, aviation and organizations affiliated to International Organizations, United Nation Youth Assembly have all not only credited the contribution but also have ceremonially recognized & awarded Vineet’s selfless effort.
Besides this, Vineet Kumar has been given accreditation and recognized by the media as the ‘Youngest IT Security Guru.’ He had also been awarded the very prestigious Chevening Scholarship by the British Government. He was invited to the International Visitor Leadership Programme(IVLP) by the United States Department of States and has also won five other International awards & honors. He has been given 17 National recognitions including, the eminent recognition of National Youth Award 2014-15 bestowed upon by the Government of India.
Also, he has thirteen other State awards & honors that only goes on to add the enthusiasm he shares towards building a national defense against the threat of cyber warfare.
Vineet continues to be at the forefront to ensure knowledge sharing among multi-stakeholders of society through various International and National platforms such as TEDx, Trend Mico Executive Defense Summit, Internet Governance Forum, Ground Zero, and BASIS, to name a few. He has also been part of the Indian Government delegation to foreign countries.
Besides this, Vineet Kumar is also a member of various forums such as: Cyber Security Task Force of NASSCOM-DSCI, Expert Group on Cyber Security, All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), National Commission for Protection of Child Right(NCPCR) and Member of the Advisory Council of Public Interest Registry at the United States.
